I am one that never wants to cancel activities and events. I have always been the one who drives through the ice and snow, shrugs off high-wind warnings, doesn't stay home from work when my nose is running a race, and rarely gives in to fear from breaking news. However, there comes a time when we must look beyond our own life decisions and take into consideration how it can affect others.
Therefore, with thoughtful concern and input from our Executive Staff, we have decided to cancel the Spring WADA scheduled for next weekend, March 14th at the Sumner Masonic Lodge.
From what we all have read and seen, we feel that it would be against the recommendations of the Health Community, and not in the best interest of our youth and adults to hold WADA at this time. Not knowing what may happen in the coming days with the current spread of COVID-19 and the fluid base of knowledge that is currently being published we don't want to put anyone in harm’s way or be forced to make decisions at the last moment.
Your Leadership Team will be working hard to get educational materials out to all of the Chapters, so this opportunity doesn't go wasted. Watch for more information soon! We will contact the Chapters who have pre-registered to refund your payments. Thank you to the Chapters, Members, and Advisors who planned to attend.
We look forward to seeing you all at the Fall WADA Weekend, October 10th and 11th at Camp Cispus.
