Candidates for State Master Councilor
(Alphabetical Order)
Kurtis Copeland
Hello DeMolay in Washington!
As your State Senior Councilor, it has been an honor and privilege to serve you all. There’s no avoiding the obvious: this past year has been unlike any other. And my hope is that, as we move to reopen our doors starting May 1st, we can move forward safely and surely. I want to leave you all with some hope as well. DeMolay itself was founded in the midst of a pandemic. Yet instead of fading, it grew like a light in the darkness, and it continues to shape the lives of members around the world. I believe in our potential. I believe that, just as DeMolay grew larger than ever in the years that followed, we also have that opportunity. After being isolated for so long, the youth of today want to be in-person. They want to play paintball and go camping. They want to have fun at a waterpark, watch a hockey game in a real stadium, and spend time with others around them. There is no better opportunity for a brotherhood to provide what DeMolay always has: a place to belong. This year, I’ve taken less of a campaign theme and more of an ideal: “Carry the Flame”. The Ceremony of Light teaches us that each of us has a flame, a beacon that guides us through good and bad times in our lives. Now is the time to share that flame with others. If you have any questions about next year (or just want to get to know me), I invite you to reach out. My cell number is (425) 551-0284. As I said, we too shall have the chance to be the light in the darkness. But only if we act. Let’s carry the flame forward into this next year! Kurtis Copeland, State Senior Councilor |
Alex Fritts
Hello Brothers of DeMolay In Washington,
My name is Alex Fritts, and I am one of your candidates for State Master Councilor. I have a lot of experience in DeMolay as a leader starting with my being the first elected Master Councilor of my home chapter Walter T. Higgins DeMolay. Since then, I have only grown stronger as a leader, by serving as your State Junior Councilor this past year I have worked on adapting and implementing programs for the membership committee as well as planning State paintball and the first ever David S. Compton Ritual Competition. If elected over the course of the next year I will ensure a safe and fun return to in-person events. I am extremely excited to see chapters begin the re-opening process starting on May 1st, and words can not describe how ready I am for Official Visits and other events that will occur in-person. It is my intention to help chapters with their exciting and new events that will undoubtedly start to surface as we draw closer to these in-person gatherings. There is nothing more exciting than being able to see your chapter re-enter a lodge room and I hope to be there when you do so! Thank you for consideration for my candidacy as State Master Councilor and I look forward to supporting your chapters! Regards, Alex Fritts Candidate for SMC |
Candidate for State Senior Councilor
Aidin Brown
Greetings Washington DeMolay!
My name is Aidin Brown and I am running to be your next State Senior Councilor. For those of you who do not know me yet, I joined Tacoma Chapter back in 2015. Since then, I have made so many friends. I have gone around Washington more times than I can count on both of my hands just to support DeMolay as best as I can, and I have also made some great memories along the way. Since joining Tacoma Chapter I have held multiple offices. During my time I have earned multiple awards. But that does not really explain why I am running for this office; I am running for you! Yes you, I am running to make sure you have fun, to make sure you become a leader for the future. I remember when I first joined, I didn’t know what to expect. But the members then taught me how to have fun and how to be a leader and they broke me out of my shell, I would not be here today without them. With those members who helped involve a young quiet in events they made me want to do more in DeMolay. Hopefully, this year I can help DeMolay by engaging new members and help retain some of the older members. To see more service-based events throughout the state. Finally, to see a stronger connection to our virtues, seeing as that is what all DeMolays are taught when they join. I am so excited to see what this next year of leadership brings, this past year a quote from Star Wars has stuck out to me it comes from master yoda “In a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights our way.” This past year has been tough and there have been some dark points, but I always remember DeMolay has got my back. DeMolay supports everyone and I want to help support you. Feel free to talk to me whenever, I hope you have a great time this year at conclave I consider it the most exciting event of the new year in DeMolay. What better way to end the year by celebrating our accomplishments and looking forward to the new year in DeMolay. |
Candidate for State Junior Councilor
Joshua Evenstad
Who is Joshua Evenstad? What is Joshua Evenstad? Why is Joshua Evenstad? Well, my name is Joshua Evenstad, and I ask myself these questions every day. If you have these questions too I’m ready and excited to answer them! I am running to be your State Junior Councilor of DeMolay in Washington. I wanna bring the fun and excitement I bring to my chapter to the state level and share it with all the brothers and hopefully to affect their lives for the better! In my term as your State Junior Councilor, I want to make all the DeMolay feel included not secluded and use my energetic and kind personality to make them feel welcomed. In my DeMolay career, I have grown into the person I am today; I am confident, I have achieved things I never thought I would, I have travelled thousands of miles for DeMolay events, made friends internationally, and I have truly benefited from the love and support this organization has given me. If I could do one thing before I age out it would be to help my brothers achieve the same growth and success I have achieved and I strongly believe I can help do that in this position and would be absolutely honored to be elected as your State Junior Councilor!
